SUMMARY:Bertha DocHouse - London\, UK
DESCRIPTION:Veteran documentary filmmaker Pamela Yates comes face to face with the war being waged against immigrants in the US\, and not just along the southern border. The border is not just a geographic location. The border is everywhere. Borderland – The Line Within investigates the massive\, militarised apparatus that has been built to capture\, imprison and deport millions\, exposing the ruthless profiteering that underlies it. At the same time\, this powerful and pertinent film weaves together the stories of migrants who are resisting and intent on building a movement for change in the shadow of this border industrial complex\, recognising the human rights of all.\n\nThe screening is co-presented with Human Rights Watch’s London Committee and will be followed by a Q&A moderated by Chris Stone and featuring Director Pamela Yates\, Producer Paco de Onis\, and Nadia Hardman\, Human Rights Watch. \n\nTickets here.\n\nChris Stone is professor of practice of public integrity at the Blavatnik School of Government\, University of Oxford.  He is principal moderator of the Symposium on Strength and Solidarity for Human Rights and served as president of the Open Society Foundations from 2012 through 2017.\n\nNadia Hardman  is a researcher in the Refugee and Migrants Rights Division of Human Rights Watch\, monitoring and documenting human rights abuses against asylum seekers\, refugees\, and migrant populations.\n\n\n\n
